    Lonavala Lake is located on the outskirts of Lonavala and is sourced by the Indrayani River this lake fills up during the monsoons and dries up during the winter leading it to be popularly known as the monsoon lake. It’s one of the popular picnic spots offering activities like bird watching, swimming, and angling.

    Lonavala Lake

    Built-in 1876,  Lonavala Lake was part of the conservation project initiated by the TATA Electric Company. The purpose of constructing this lake was to preserve the  Shirota and Valvan reservoir drainage basins. The primary water source of the lake is the Indrayani River.

    At a distance of 2.5 km from Lonavala Railway Station, Lonavala Lake is located on the outskirts of Lonavala town this beautiful lake was built in the year 1876, river Indrayani is the source of water for this lake.
