    Lonavala Lake is located on the outskirts of Lonavala and is sourced by the Indrayani River this lake fills up during the monsoons and dries up during the winter leading it to be popularly known as the monsoon lake.     Lonavala Lake

    Built-in 1876,  Lonavala Lake was part of the conservation project initiated by the TATA Electric Company. The purpose of constructing this lake was to preserve the  Shirota and Valvan reservoir drainage basins. The primary water source of the lake is the Indrayani River.
