    History

The Manu Temple is dedicated to King Vaibhaswat Manu, who is believed to be the creator of the human race.  He is also called a Sanatan Hindu Lawyer.  Ancient inscriptions mention the title Manu Alaya which translates into Manu’s abode.  According to legend, age Shi Manu found a small carp fish on the bank of a river while he was washing his hands.  The Shi then put the carp in a bowl to save him.  The fish soon became too big to fit in the bowl, so age she took him to a bigger bowl. The fish, however, continues to grow in size and age she has to take it back to the river bank.  Once in the river, the fish grow to such a size that the river cannot accommodate them.  Age Shi finally took the fish to the sea.

Lord Vishnu then appeared in his original form and informed Age Shi

Manu about the flood which would wipe out the life of the planet.  The Shi built a boat big enough to accommodate his family and nine species of animals, birds, and seeds.  After the flood was over, he landed on the earth from his boat and meditated.

The Manu temple was built on the spot where he is believed to have meditated.  The king was thus known as Ashi.  Age Shi Manu is also responsible for the laws relating to Manu or Manusmriti, which form the basis of Hinduism through a dialogue conducted by a group of Cat Shi to deal with disasters and maintain peace and harmony in society.
