    A hidden waterfall inside the deep forests from Thuppanad Junction on the (Palakkad – Mannarkkad route), the ”Meenvallam waterfalls” are nearly 20 to 25 feet high, and the depth is around 15 to 20 feet as well. Located in the Palakkad district, this ten-step waterfall, of which eight are situated in the upper hills inside the dense forest, is another tourist attraction in Palakkad.

    Located almost 8 km deep inside the forests from Thuppanad Junction (on the Palakkad – Mannarkkad Route in NH 213)k, the waterfalls draw the attention of a lot of our visitors every year. It is actually a group of 5 consecutive waterfalls on a mountain. It is covered by dense forest. If you want to reach the base of the mountain, you have to cross a stream of the same water as all these waterfalls.

    The beauty of these waterfalls gets a lot more stunning when you trek up from the base level to the peak. People are attracted by the beautiful sound of water in their ears as they go up. It is also a good idea to enjoy when you carry a picnic basket with you, sit amidst the rhythmically falling waters, and munch on some sandwiches or lemon rice with chips.

But, from the available information, we can say that this place has been serving as a tourist spot for years. People come here to enjoy some quality time amidst lush greenery.

    Meenvallam WaterFallsMeenvallam Waterfalls can be addressed as a hidden gem in Palakkad district. It cascades from as high (as 45 meters) into the Thuppanadu River. The source of water originates from the ‘Kalladikode Hills.’ Thuppanadu River eventually joins with the Thoothapuzha and happily joins the Bharathapuzha River. There are five cascades there. The lush greenery is enjoyed by nature lovers a lot.

    The waterfalls and their surrounding area are protected and maintained by ‘Thudikkode Vana Samrakshana Samathi’ of Olavakkode Range in Palakkad Forest Division. The forests surrounding the waterfalls are an extension of the ‘Silent Valley National Park.’ The whole area is filled with beautiful green trees. The sound of the cascading water, along with charming birds and other insects, make a Symphony that takes you away from the hustle and bustle of artificial city life.

    By road: It is situated in Palakkad’s ‘Palakkad – Manarkkad route’ area. From the busy area of Palakkad, the Meenvallam Waterfalls are almost 20 to 25 km away. Kerala is well connected with other major cities like Kolkata, Midnapore, Chennai, Siliguri, Delhi, Ghaziabad, Mumbai, etc. And from Palakkad city, you will get local transport to reach the site.

    By air: The closest airport, ‘Coimbatore International Airport’ (which is an international one), is almost 96 kilometers away from this area which is in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. You can visit this place from outside of India. Apart from that, there are airports in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, or Lucknow with direct flights to Kerala through ‘Cochin International Airport,’ Kerala. From the airport, you can easily get local transport to reach the site.

    By train: The closest railway station from the Meenvallam Waterfalls is nearly 25 km away at the ‘Palakkad Junction.’ This station is well connected with major areas of the country. From the station, you will get local transport so that you can reach the site.
