    Paramekkavu Bhagavathi Temple is one of the most important places in the state for worship. This temple was built in the ancient period about 1000 years ago. In this temple, Devi Durga was established as a daru shilpo or wooden idol.
    Paramekkavu Bhagavathi Temple is lying near the Vadakkumnathan Temple. The people believe that the Goddess from the Paramekkavu Bhagavathi Temple went to meet Lord Shiva in the Vadakkumnathan Temple.

    This is a sacred Hindu Temple dedicated to Devi Bhagavathi. The Temple features traditional Kerala architecture with ornate carving and intricate woodwork. The Temple’s serene atmosphere offers a peaceful retreat. Inside the Temple, pants and Shirts are not allowed. The view of this Temple is truly captivating. There is a spacious prayer hall where devotees allow for rituals and prayer.  A well-maintained courtyard and clean interior create a scene of serenity that is perfect for prayers and relaxation.
    The Temple’s exterior displays traditional Kerala architecture.  Inside the Temple, there is an elephant. The Temple’s elephant yard is at Kuttoor, named Santi Ghal. There is a ceremonial procession from Paramekkavu to the Vadakkumnathan Temple, in which 15 beautiful decorated elephants are carried in the procession.
    The Temple has a museum that is a collection of artefacts related to Temple history and culture. The Temple is surrounded by beautiful vegetation,  which contributes to the tranquil atmosphere. Another nearest airport is Cochin International Airport (COK) in Kerala. From this airport, you can hire a bus, a taxi or other means of transport to get to the place.

    By Train: Thrissur Railway Station is the nearest station, about 2 km from the Paramekkavu Bhagavathi Temple. From here, you can take a taxi or auto rickshaw to reach the temple easily. 

    By Road: Bus services are available from nearby cities. From the Thrissur Bus stand, you can take local transport to reach the temple.
