    Purulia Junction

    Purulia Junction Rail station was built in 1890. It is recognized as one of the oldest, cleanest, and busiest railway stations, which are connected by Adra Junction, Tatanagar Junction, Asansol Junction, Barabhum, and others. A number of Mail-express and local trains run through this station. It plays a significant role in the industrial development of Purulia district. The architecture of Purulia Junction is the recollection of the colonial era with its classical redbrick buildings and ornaments. This Junction not only serves as a vital transportation hub but also offers an authentic glimpse into the cultural heritage and natural beauty of the region.

    For security, the station added CCTV cameras. The station was developed with electrification in the year of 1961-62. It adds other facilities to the station. Purulia station is now an important station because of the development of the tourism sector in this district.

    Outside view: The station is well decorated. The market is situated just outside the station. A temple is near the market. There are authorized food vendor stalls at the platforms. The outside view of the station is full of facilities, including bus stands, auto stands, and rickshaws to move into the city. Outside the station, you will get SBI, axis, and ATM. The environment of this Junction is lively.

    Inside view : When you enter the station, you will see various platforms with enough facilities: waiting rooms for female and male passengers, washrooms, restrooms, etc. The washroom facilities of Purulia Junction are well-maintained and hygienic. The ticket is at the mouth of the entrance that is easy for everyone. A security guard is always concerned about passengers. The railway canteen is present on platforms 1 and  2.     By Air: The nearest airport is Birsa Munda Airport in Ranchi. It is about 100 km away from Purulia. From there, you will hire a bus or taxi to Purulia. Another Airport is Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International  Airport, Kolkata, which is about 250 km from Purulia. From here, you can take a bus or train to Purulia.  

    By Train: Barabum station is the nearest station to the place. It is 22 km away from the place. From here you can take local transport to reach there very easily.

    By Bus: Purulia bus stand is the nearest bus stand to the station. It is located in the town of Purulia. From the bus stand you can reach Purulia junction by taking an auto or taxi within a short time.
