You can spot a variety of colorful and exotic birds here. Not only birds but there are also some other animals available, like monkeys, rabbits, snakes, rabbits, etc. There is a big lake and a huge aquarium inside this sanctuary. Different types of fish are there.

    History

    In 1970, this sanctuary was a part of the social forestry programme of the Government of west Bengal. The department of forestry planted tree species like kadam, sissoo, jarul and many More. During the hatching season, migratory birds and species come to the artificial forest. Then in 1985, it was designated as the ‘Raiganj Wildlife sanctuary‘.

    The whole view of this place is amazing. The place is very well maintained.  If you are a Nature lover, you can enjoy nature, the melodious singing of birds, and the roar of many wild animals. The sanctuary is quite big and has enough space for the Animals. Each has Its own place. There is a pond inside this sanctuary. Photography is also allowed here. For bird watchers, it is best to see early in the morning. Hundreds of a variety of birds and other Animals makes it visitable.  These things attract a lot of tourists. This place is very natural.     By air: Bagdogra International Airport is the nearest airport to this place. You can easily reach there by air.

    By Rail: Jalpaiguri Station is the nearest railway station to this place. After reaching the station, you can take an auto rickshaw or hire a cab to reach your destination.

    By road: I think by road is the best way to get there. You can hire a car or cab to reach your destination directly. Otherwise you can take a bus to reach kolkata city first, then take a bus  to reach anywhere.It is well connected to other Cities.
