The well-known Sanaghagara Nature Camp is located in the district of Keonjhar. ‘Sana’ means tiny, and ‘Ghagara’ means waterfall, hence the waterfall’s name. Near the Sanaghagara waterfall is another fall called Badaghagara (bada meaning big). The most visited tourist sites in the state are these two waterfalls. Sanaghagara Waterfall is 30.5 meters high, while Badaghagara Waterfall is 60 meters high. It’s a unique ecotourism destination. Natural falls with captivating beauty are created as the San Machakandana River meanders gently over the hills. The geography in the area is very undulating and features hills, pediments, and a narrow valley formed like a “V.” The dolerite origin of the rock formation is indicated by the steep slopes and pediments.
