    Sri Venkateswara Swamy Vaari Temple is a sacred place for the Hindu community, located in the hill town of Tirumala in Tirupati, Chittor district in Andhra Pradesh, India. The temple is dedicated to Venkateswara, which is considered to be a form of Vishnu. It is further believed that he appeared here in the Kali Yuga to save mankind from various kinds of immoral trials and tribulations.

More than 433 festivals are celebrated about 365 days of the year under the title “Nitya Kalyanam Paccha Toranam”. There are also some annual festivals, which are celebrated with great pomp. Some of these annual festivals are- Rama Navami, Janmashtami, Ugadi, Teppotsavam (Float Festival), Sri Padmavati Parinayotsavams, Pushpa yagam, Pushpa pallaki, Vasanthotsavam (spring festival. That’s why people are attracted to this place.

    Sri Venkateswara Swamy Vaari Temple

    In 966 CE the first recorded endowment was made by Pallava Queen and she donated many Jewels and two parcels of land. She ordered the to use these things for the major festivals in the temple. The Chola dynasty, The Pallava Dynasty, and the Vijayawada pradhans were committed devotees of this temple. After the end of the Vijayanagara Empire, the temple went to the hands of  Golconda in July 1656, and then it was under the French for a short period of time. Then the management of the temple goes to the hands of the East India Company. After that, the east India company decided to give the temple management Bruce’s Code and the 7th Nizam of Hyderabad Mir Osman Ali khan donated 8,000 to the temple. After that, the temple management goes by Andhra Pradesh Government. This temple bears as many as 640 inscriptions in Kannada, Sanskrit, and Tamil languages.

    Entry & Others Fees

    No entry fee is available for the visitors. If you want to worship then you have to pay different amount (Indian Rupees) for different worship. Such as-

    • Rs. 300/- per person for ‘Special Darshan’.
    • Rs. 50/- per person for ‘Sudharshan Darshan’.
    • Rs. 500/- per person for ‘Break Darshan’.

    How to Reach

    By Air: Tirumala has no airport of its own. The nearest airport is in Renigunta, which is around 16 km from Tirupati and 39 km from Lord Venkateswara Temple, Tirumala. Direct flights are also available from many major Indian cities like New Delhi, Hyderabad, Vishakapatnam, and Bengaluru. After reaching the airport, you have to reach Tirupati first. Then you can easily hire a taxi, cab or take buses to reach Tirumala. Private taxis or cars are also available from the Renigunta domestic airport.

    By Train: Tirumala has no railway station of its own. If you want to reach Tirumala by train, you have to take another way. The nearest railway station is in Tirupati, which is around 26 km away from Tirumala. After reaching the railway station, you can easily hire a taxi, cab, or take buses to reach Tirumala.

    By Road: Several kinds of buses are available from many other cities of Andhra Pradesh to Tirumala and Tirupati. You don’t have to wait too long for the bus. Every two minutes you will get a bus to Tirupati. Direct buses are also available from Chennai, Vellore, and Bengaluru, which also operate from Tirupati. You can also take private taxis, cars,s or buses to reach Tirumala from Tirupati.
