History

The primary water source to the lake is the 1930s British Era Tungarli Dam which is also a water source to neighboring residents of the nearby hill station this British Era Lake In Lonavala Is A Camping Paradise And A Perfect Picnic Spot.

Tungarli Lake is one of the hilltop lakes and one of the most picturesque lakes, with unparalleled views of the Sahyadri range and the calming blue waters. To reach this lake you need to embark on a short trek to get the water and along the way, you’ll find food and snack vendors so, if you require a pitstop, this is a grand palace to do so. From the lake, you have a full access view of Rajmachi and Lonavala and can easily spot Lohagad Fort. If you plan to stay at this place overnight, there are plenty of campsites where you can choose the tents of your liking.
