Uttar Pradesh is a state in northern India. With over 200 million inhabitants, it is the most populated state in India as well as the most populous country subdivision in the world It was established in 1950 after India had become a republic. This state is divided into 75 district decisions, with the state capital being Lucknow, and Prayagraj serving as the judicial capital. On 9 November 2000, a new state, Uttaranchal was created from Uttar Pradesh’s western Himalayan hill region. The two major rivers of the state, the Ganges and its tributary Yamuna meet at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj.

Location

Uttar Pradesh is translated as “Northern Province” in English

It’s a state situated in Northern India. Kanpur is its economic and industrial capital and Lucknow is the capital city of Uttar Pradesh.

Language

The languages of Uttar Pradesh generally belong to two zones in the Indo-Aryan languages Central and East and There are approximately 29 languages spoken in this state. Hindi is the state’s official language and according to census data, it is spoken by 80.16% of the population. Bhojpuri is the second most spoken language of Uttar Pradesh, and it is spoken by almost 11% of the population. However, Hindi is a wide label that covers many dialects, which may or may not be considered separate languages. It may or may not be fully mutually intelligible. These include Bhojpuri Braj Bhasha, Bundeli, Awadhi, Bagheli, and Kannauji.

The population of this state largely comprises Indo-Aryan sub-races. Most of the people belong to the chain of the Aryan race that is separated from the one in Iran and A small population that is based in the hills and foothills district has Mongoloid percentages too.

History of Uttar Pradesh

The region was the scene of the Indian Rebellion of 1857 with riots in Meerut, Kanpur, and Lucknow. The region was also the scene of the Indian independence movement with the Indian National Congress. After gaining independence in 1947, the United Provinces were renamed Uttar Pradesh in 1950.

Tradition of Uttar Pradesh

This state is mostly a state of two sects- Hindus and Muslims. The traditional dress of the women of this state is a sari and a blouse or salwar kameez and the men opt for a dhoti kurta or kurta pajama. They also wear Topi or pagri on their heads. On more festive occasions, men go for sherwani – which is an embroidered kurta with churidars, and Women wear lehenga choli on formal occasions which is an embroidered long skirt with a blouse. It’s a long sciskn known own as Odani. This is the unique costume of the women of Uttar Pradesh, and They also adorn themselves with accessories including gold chains, rings, tiaras, necklaces, bangles, trinkets, anklets, etc.
