Assam State Museum is also known as Assam Rajyik State Museum. Previously Assam Provincial Museum is located in the Dighali Pukhuri tank. It was built during the colonization of the British in India in the year 1940.
The museum has collections of artifacts and sculptures dating back to the 5th to 12th centuries.
Various sections of the museum display different sect of history. You can find Assamese, Tai, and Myanmar manuscripts in the manuscript section.
