Ludhiana is one of the largest cities in India and the 28 largest urban agglomerations in India. The area of this city is about 158 km^2 animated population of 1618879 as of the 2011 census. This city is an industrial center of northern India and Ludhiana has been ranked as the easiest city in India for business according to the World Bank. In 1480 Ludhiana was founded by members of the ruling Lodhi dynasty of the Delhi Sultanate. Yusaf Khan and Nihand Khan have camped at the site of the present this city and at that time it was a village called Mir Hota. Lodhi-ana means Lodhi Town and then its name is Ludhiana.
