    History

    Being a fascinating place in Baripada, it has an amazing history. During Sumitra Devi’s rule, Varipada was known as the headquarters of the state in the late eighteenth century. When Maharaja Shri Ramchandra Bhanjdeo ruled Baripada, the Badjod Dam was constructed. It takes approximately 10 to 15 acres of land during the rainy season.  But it doesn’t provide water for Kharif crops.

    By Road: Baripada Bus stand is the nearest bus stand to the Dam. From Baripada town, you can take a taxi or cab to reach Badjod Dam. It is only 10 km away from the town. The road is well-connected, so it is a totally hassle-free journey.  Besides, you can enjoy the lush greenery.
