Karnataka was formed on 1 November 1956. Capital city of Karnataka is Bengaluru. It is the 6th largest state of India with 191,791 km^2 area of 30 districts. The present Chief Minister is B.S. Yediyurappa (BJP).
Karnataka belongs southwestern part of India. Karnataka is located between 11.5⁰North and 18.5⁰ North latitudes and 74⁰ East and 78.5⁰ East longitudes.
